Your CameraPhone Can Help You Lose Weight
One of the best tools in the fight against weight is to keep track of the food you are eating. One of the problems is time, as in who has the time to log everything? Here’s a clever new trip that just might make everything a lot easier to maintain a food log, your cameraphone. Some experts suggest you take pictures of the food you eat and then send those pictures to yourself.
Nutrax, an online service takes the concept to a much higher lever. With Nutrax you snap photos of the food you eat as you go about your day and then at the end of the day you sit down and identify the foods in the pictures. After you’ve identified the foods the service then tracks the calories, carbohydrates, and nutrients.
Once the service has recorded the information you can view it from a number of perspectives. You can view your data compared to a set of goals you set for yourself in graph form. One interesting feature of the system is you can view photos of meals you’ve eaten that were high in fat, eaten late at night, etc.
Sounds like a very creative system that provides feedback that could make a real difference in your eating habits.
Check it out.
Note:
What might be kind of fun is turning the camera on yourself and taking a photo or two of your mouth full. Might not be very flattering but could provide just the right feedback to make a difference.
