Metabolism, or metabolic rate is how fast your body burns calories by going about your daily routines. Good news is you can exert control over your metabolic rate and speed it up.

Here are three tips to crank up the metabolic heat.

1. Eat smaller meals and eat more often - Your body will adjust to using the more frequent meals as fuel and not store them as body fat.
2. Drink more water - A German study showed that drinking 500ml of water increased the resting metabolic rate of the test subjects by 30%! This effect reached a maximum around 30-40 minutes after drinking the water.
3. Supplements - Maybe - Studies recently showed that vitamin C has influence on metabolism.
